FLOWERS of TURKEY
Over a 6 year period we ran botanical walking tours to explore the area around the Turkish Mediterranean coastal village of Adrasan, in the ancient region of Lycia. There are over 9,000 species of wild flower in Turkey – about six times the number in many more northern European countries. Some 30% of Turkish plant species are endemic (restricted) to Turkey and the nearby Aegean Islands. Between 2010 & 2015 we were able to identify over 400 different species of flowering plants.
